Parking Guidelines

Please be aware that  NO on street parking is allowed within Chapin Greene!

IT IS THE OWNERS AND RESIDENTS RESPONSIBILITY TO ADVISE THEIR VISITORS AND GUESTS OF THIS DIRECTIVE.

This is in compliance with Massachusetts fire code NFPA 18.2.3.4.111 addressing fire lanes and narrow streets so not to impede the ability and safe passage of fire apparatus and emergency vehicles.  (refer to Chapin Greene Rules & Regulations section Vehicles, Parking and Traffic Regulations, rule 20)

EXCEPTIONS: delivery service, utility company, private contractor, landscape or maintenance vehicles with attached trailers actively working on site, or the drop off and pick up of passengers. 

At times Chapin Greene experiences a lack of available parking for visitors and guest, particularly during certain holidays and special occasions. With many residents having multiple vehicles, coupled with not utilizing all the available space in their driveways, parking for visitors can be challenging. The Board of Trustees is appealing to all residents by asking for your cooperation in helping to resolve this problem.  Here are a few suggestions:       

• Utilize all parking space available in your own driveway. This will significantly increase parking availability for visiting family and friends during peak visitation days.                

• Offer to share your driveway with your neighbor during holidays and special occasions.                 

• If your going to be away for an extended period of time, offer your driveway to a neighbor to use during your absence. This also provides a security benefit of giving the appearance that your unit is occupied.

Residents and visitors cooperation is needed during every snow storm to insure all parking areas and driveways are cleared. Chapin Greene is unique in it's landscape design and therefore limited to where snow can be placed after a storm. It's important that we all cooperate and assist the snow plow operators.
